We are in the final phase of the SERMAS European project
Within the framework of the SERMAS project, we have developed a system capable of recognising Basque, Spanish, English, French and Italian in noisy environments with the added ability to differentiate between speakers.
SERMAS (Socially-acceptable Extended Reality Models and Systems) is a research and innovation project financed by funds from the Horizon Europe programme and led by various players. It aims to develop socially acceptable extended reality (XR) models and systems (they combine the physical and digital worlds, including augmented reality, virtual reality and mixed reality). SERMAS sets out to build advanced intelligent or virtual assistants for various fields through the research and development of state-of-the-art artificial intelligence. Within the framework of the SERMAS project, Orai is immersed in the subproject LANGSWITCH (Multilingual Automatic Speech Recognition in Noisy Environments).
Although Orai researchers have verified the accuracy of the system they have developed, in this last phase they must now measure its Social Acceptance. On the one hand, researchers will assess the system's accuracy based on users' age, gender, and accent. On the other hand, a demonstration will allow users to test the system and assess its usability, manageability, reliability, and accuracy.
