Overview

Orai has developed technology to automate the semantic tagging and classification system of news items in the Berria newspaper. By automatically extracting thematic descriptors and named entities from news items, the items can now be classified according to a comprehensive system of categories, and advanced searches and analyses can be made on the basis of the tagging.

Challenge

We have developed a semantic tagging system of news items in the Berria newspaper. The system assigns various semantic descriptors to each news item, i.e. names of people, places, institutions, events, topics, subject areas, etc. that are mentioned in each news item.

Result

Berria news items have been automatically tagged using AI. A task that previously required human intervention can now be performed automatically, thus facilitating the work of journalists and documentary filmmakers.
